Kia Ora, Aotearoa — PhonoLab Now Ships Custom Vinyl Records to New Zealand

We've got news worth spinning about: PhonoLab now ships custom vinyl records to New Zealand.

For eight-plus years we've been cutting records here in Newcastle, turning the songs that mean something into something you can hold, frame, gift and play. Australia has kept our lathes humming the whole time — and now we get to do the same for our friends across the Tasman. So if you're in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin or anywhere in between, your moments and your sounds can finally come home on vinyl.

What this means for you

Everything we make for our Australian customers, you can now order from Aotearoa. Same records, same care, same team cutting every single one in real time.

That means:

  • Custom Vinyl Records in 7", 10", 12" Single LP and 12" Double LP — with your artwork, your photos and your tracklist printed on full-colour labels and a full-colour pocketed cover.
  • Dub Plates for the DJs — the one-of-a-kind cut that can't be Shazamed, can't be downloaded later, and is yours and yours alone.
  • A huge range of record colours to choose from (we offer more colours than anyone else), including our cult-favourite Heart-Shaped record for the romantics.
  • 12" records can be upgraded to a gatefold cover — more real estate for your images and a properly premium finish.

Turn a Spotify or Apple Music playlist into a record

Here's the part most people don't realise you can do anywhere else: you don't need to be a musician or have your own audio files. Send us a Spotify or Apple Music playlist and we'll do the rest.

We purchase the music on your behalf and cut it straight to your record — the songs from your wedding, your road trips, your kid's first dance, or that one album you've worn out streaming. It's the easiest way to turn a playlist that lives on a phone into something you'll actually keep forever.

Prefer to send your own audio? That works too. WAV, FLAC or AIFF is ideal, but we'll happily work with what you've got.

Made for the moments that matter

Most of the records leaving our workshop are gifts, and we get why. There's something about handing someone the music from their wedding day, a milestone birthday, or a voice they love pressed into a record they can play on repeat. It lands differently to a gift card.

New Zealand couples, families and music lovers — anniversaries, first dances, 50ths and 60ths, "remember this song?" moments — this one's for you. Let your memories spin forever.

Why PhonoLab

We're not the only lathe cutters out there, but we do a few things nobody else does:

  • Eight-plus years and consistent five-star reviews. Customers tell us our service and communication are the best part of ordering — and plenty say their records sound noticeably better than streaming.
  • We cut every record in real time and obsess over the details, from audio clarity to the 3mm spine on our covers.
  • We polish our own cutting styluses — one of fewer than five businesses in the world who can — so our quality stays consistent, order after order.
  • Local through and through. Our covers and labels are printed right here in Newcastle, and we sweat every step in-house.

How long does delivery to New Zealand take?

We guarantee two weeks of production plus shipping — and we're often out the door before then. We ship with Australia Post . Got a date you're working towards (an anniversary, a birthday, a Christmas surprise)? Drop us a message before you order and we'll let you know what's realistic.

Ready to make something that lasts?
