Short Runs
Our simple guide to ordering your short run records online.
Note: Due to supply difficulties our capability to produce Short Runs has been reduced as of Jan 2022. 12" short runs only at this time.
Prepare your audio tracks
Step 1. Email a link to your digital music files. Use Dropbox, Google Drive or similar. Please be sure to give the correct permissions so that we can access and download your music.
Step 2. Email artwork if this applies to your project. If not, your short run records will arrive with our labels and blank sleeves.
Step 3. Call or email with details of your short run order. Quantities, artwork details, colour, mailing address and packaging requests.
Step 4. Pay invoice. Your order will then enter the cutting queue.
Step 5. Your short run records will arrive or be ready for pickup as per our schedule.
Decide on your track order
Depending on how you are suppling the audio, you will need to let us know the order in which they should appear on the A and B side.
The best way to do this is to label your tracks A1, A2, B1, B2 etc.
You’ll also need to specify the colour you would like. Clear comes as standard whilst colour (including black) is an additional cost.
You will need to ensure your audio will fit on the record size you have ordered. Please refer to running times listed below.
33 RPM
• 7” short run record – maximum 5 minutes per side
• 10″ short run record – maximum 12 minutes per side
• 12” short run record – maximum 17 minutes per side
45 RPM
• 7″ maximum 4 minutes per side
• 10″ maximum 9 minutes per side
• 12″ maximum 12 minutes per side
These side lengths may be extended depending on the material. Call us to discuss.
Create your artwork, if required
We can digitally print centre labels and sleeves with your supplied artwork.

If you do not supply artwork, your records will come with our standard PhonoLab labels. We can also supply records blank without labels or can arrange artwork to be designed for you, at an additional cost. Please get in touch with us if you need artwork design.
Supply your files
Upload your files and track listing to a folder on Google Drive, WeTransfer or Dropbox. Please ensure your files are clearly labelled in a folder with your first and last name so we can track your order.
If you are supplying audio by cassette, DAT, record, ¼ inch tape or VHS you will need to supply via mail or in person at our cutting lab in Newcastle. Please contact us prior if you are delivering in person.
Email phonolab45@gmail.com with a link to your files and we will provide you with payment details.
Pay for your order
Payment is via direct bank deposit, or cash if you are collecting the order. All orders must be paid in full before they are dispatched.
When payment has been received we will process your order and let you know when the test record for your small run will be shipped.
All domestic orders are sent via Australia Post and costs vary based on delivery address, size and weight.
