PhonoLab is a small and growing vinyl record studio based in Mayfield West, NSW, and we're looking for a Studio Production & Fulfilment Assistant to join us on a casual basis. If you're someone who likes working with their hands, takes pride in doing things properly, and is keen to be part of something a bit different — read on.

This isn't a desk job. You'll be physically making vinyl record covers, packing and preparing customer orders, and helping keep the studio running smoothly. No experience in the music industry needed — just reliability, care, and a good work ethic.

18+ applicants only. Own car required.

What the Role Involves

The bulk of the role is hands-on production and fulfilment work. This includes:

  • Assembling and finishing vinyl record covers and packaging
  • Picking, packing, and preparing customer orders for dispatch
  • Maintaining an organised and tidy production workspace
  • Occasional supplier runs, post runs or pickups (mileage reimbursed)
  • Assisting with general studio tasks as needed

This is a physical, production-focused role. You'll be on your feet, working methodically, prioritising jobs and taking real ownership of the orders that go out the door.

Working in a Small Studio

PhonoLab is a small operation, which means the role is varied and you won't be invisible. You'll work alongside the owners and our small team, get a real sense of how the business runs, and have genuine input into how things get done. It suits someone who is self-motivated, comfortable asking questions, and happy to crack on without needing to be micromanaged.

Role Details

  • Location: Mayfield West, NSW
  • Hours: 2–3 days per week during business hours
  • Pay: $31.19/hr (minimum wage casual rate, as per Fair Work)
  • Employment: Casual
  • Start Date: Flexible — let us know your availability
  • Own car and license required (occasional supplier runs; mileage reimbursed)
  • 18+ only

What We're Looking For

  • Reliable and punctual, we run a tight ship
  • Careful and methodical, quality over speed
  • Comfortable doing repetitive physical tasks without cutting corners
  • Happy working in a small, no-frills studio environment
  • Interest in music, vinyl, or making physical things is a bonus but not required
