Quiet as a Mouse – Nostalgia is fine…but…
In July 2026 we completed a run of 10 records for Quiet as a Mouse, the solo project of London-born, Edinburgh-raised, Brisbane-based singer/songwriter Alex Moran. His sophomore album Nostalgia is fine…but… was cut on 12" vinyl in a split run — five on translucent red, five on white. Released on Moran's own label Over The Hedge, the whole run stays in the family.
We cut 10 copies on 12" vinyl — five translucent red and five white — at 33RPM, packaged in a full-colour printed sleeve. The cover features two dogs, and the centre labels carry the same image across both colourways. The back cover lists the full tracklist and credits against a dark background.
Quiet as a Mouse is the musical project of Alex Moran, a singer/songwriter born in London, raised across 13 years in Edinburgh, and based in Brisbane since 2019. In between he's lived in Leamington Spa, Stanthorpe, Warwick, Hobart, and Adelaide — and all of that geography finds its way into the music. His sound sits at a crossroads of indie rock, emo, grunge, punk, and alt-country, drawing from influences like Nick Cave, Cat Power, and The Strokes.
Moran has been building the Quiet as a Mouse project since forming it in Edinburgh in 2012. Along the way he's supported Hinds, The Orwells, Palma Violets, The Big Moon, The Orielles, and The Crookes, and picked up airplay from BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio Scotland, Amazing Radio, and Triple J Unearthed.
Nostalgia is fine…but… is his second album, following 2018's debut Is It Funny When It Hurts? and the 2022 mini album Passport. The ten-track record was released on May 29, 2026 and has already picked up press from across the UK and Australia. It's a record about reflection without getting trapped in the past — brooding, multi-genre songwriting that moves between vulnerability and confidence across tracks that blend Britpop swagger with heartfelt storytelling.
