The ABC Jugband - For Seasons
In June 2026 we completed a run of 15 records for The ABC Jugband, a Sydney-based ensemble that puts junk, toy, and acoustic instruments through their paces to create lo-fi, 1930s swing-inspired grooves. Their release For Seasons is a four-track 7" with a simple and brilliant concept — one song for each season.

The Specs:
We cut 15 copies on clear 7" vinyl.
The ABC Jugband is part of the Sydney-based Telafonica collective and releases through 4-4-2 Music, a self-described boutique label. The band takes well-known songs from across the decades and runs them through a jug band filter — what they call being "juggified." No music is too sacred.
For Seasons covers four classics, one per season: Paul Simon's A Hazy Shade of Winter, the 1930s standard Spring Cleaning, The Lovin' Spoonful's Summer in the City, and Jack White's We're Going to Be Friends. The instrumentation is where things get fun — across the four tracks you'll hear violin, clarinet, cello, ukulele, banjo, harmonica, glockenspiel, toy piano, tap dancing, a cardboard box bass, a bicycle bell, Hawaiian guitar, and cups. It's a big rotating cast of musicians, all arranged, performed, and produced by the band themselves, with collages by Sophia Kamarados and photography by Imojjen Elmer, Rebecca Elmer, and Costa Kamarados.
The band has also put together videos of the recording sessions, which you can watch on their YouTube playlist.
