Frequently asked questions
What is a vinyl record insert?
A printed card that sits inside the cover alongside the record. It's where the tracklist, credits, lyrics, photos and liner notes usually live — the detail that turns a pressing into a finished release.
What format should I supply my artwork in?
Designing in your own software? Supply a PDF at 300DPI in CMYK (FOGRA39), with fonts flattened and the 3mm bleed included. The PDF templates are already set up this way — design over the top and export.
Using the Canva template? Just paste your Canva link when you order. We'll pull the files and handle the print setup at our end.
How thick is 350GSM card?
Substantial. For comparison, a typical flyer is around 130GSM and a business card sits near 350GSM. It has real weight in the hand and won't curl or crease in the sleeve.
Do I need design software?
No. The Canva templates run in your browser and are free — pick your size above, drop in your images and type your text. If you'd rather use your own software, download the print-ready PDF template instead.
Can I use my own artwork?
Absolutely. Download the PDF template for your size and design over it in Illustrator, InDesign, Affinity or Photoshop. Keep the bleed and safe margins where they are and your artwork will print exactly as intended.
Which size do I need?
Match your record. A 12" pressing takes the 305mm insert, a 10" takes the 270mm, a 7" takes the 186mm. If your order includes more than one format, you'll need the matching insert for each.
